DC Kupwara reviews status of NH-701 BKC road

DM directs officers to work in tandem for completion of road project

Kupwara : In order to review the status of the newly declared NH-701 (Rafiabad-Kupwara-Chowkibal-Tangdar-Chamkote) road, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, DoifodeSagarDattatrayon Tuesday convened a meeting of concerned officers in his office chamber at D.C Office, here.

Addressing the meeting, the DC stressed all the officers to work in tandem with added zeal to ensure timely completion of the road project. He directed them for alignment of the road project on futuristic lines to ensure benefit to the maximum population of the district.

The DC directed the OC BEACON to visit Karnah within four days for working out the technicalities of the road project on that side.

The meeting was informed that the land required for development of the national highway NH-701 109 RCC is 18 Meters whereas 20.12 Meter of land has already been acquired and is in possession of 109 RCC, as such no extra land is required for the existing road. However, land acquisition is required only for the bypass to be constructed in Kupwara district.

Regarding construction of bypasses, the meeting was informed that four bypasses are involved in the road project including Kupwara bypass, Trehgam, Kralpora and Chowkibal bypasses.

Reviewing Kupwara bypass, it was given out that revenue papers of villages Regipora, Bohipora, Gushi, GundGushi, Tikker and Batergam for land measuring 120 kanals and 12 marlas have been authenticated by OC 109 RCC and forwarded to TehsildarKupwara for verification.

Regarding Trehgam bypass, it was informed that land measuring 133 kanals and 8 Marlas are involved under the bypass and 3A notification stands issued by the Central Government.

It was given out in the meeting that land measuring 69 Kanals and 11 Kanals are involved under Kralpora and Chowkibal bypasses respectively for which a 3A notification has been issued by the Central Government in Government of India Gazette.

Regarding curve portions at Langate, Braripora and Kulangam, it was informed that 3A schedule and draft 3D schedule have been notified by the Central Government. Besides, assessment of apple trees on Langate curve and assessment of structures on Kulangam curve have already been made.

The Officer Commanding 109 RCC (GREF), ADC Handwara, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Kupwara, Ex. Engineer R&B Kupwara/Handwara, Tehsildars and other concerned attended the meeting.
