Don’t go back to govt service, it will lose charm of your life : Soz tells Shah Faesal

Srinagar: Senior Congress leader Prof. Saifuddin Soz Monday said that Ghulam Nabi Azad has unfortunately misunderstood his own position. Ghulam Nabi Azad in a rally in North Kashmir had claimed that Article 370 of the Indian Constitution can’t be restored.
“Who told him (Azad) to restore Article 370?, Soz questioned. “If Mr Azad were a student of history, he would know that the primary proposition is that the people were always known for the vitality of their struggle for achieving the goal, rather than the goal itself. To the best of my knowledge, the Central Government had no authority to abrogate Article 370 of the Constitution of India on August 5, 2019, unilaterally,” Soz said. He said the Central Government did it because it believes more in muscle power rather than in constitutional values.
“Since that date of highhandedness on the part of the Central Government, i.e. August 5, 2019 when it abrogated Article 370 of the Constitution of India, the people of the J&K State have started a democratic, peaceful and sustained struggle for the restoration of the Constitutional position,” Soz said. He said that the premier party in the J&K Mainstream Political class has additionally approached the Supreme Court for restoration of Article 370 of the Constitution of India.
Meanwhile, keen observers of the Kashmir situation have taken serious notice of the fact that the J&K people would continue their struggle for a cause they consider to be sacred i.e. restoration of Article 370 of the Constitution of India.
“I feel further sad that many people in the J&K State have realized that the narrative of Gulam Nabi Azad is no different from the narrative of the Bharatiya Janata Party,” Soz said.
