DE & CC, ITI organise Job Fair, Apprenticeship Mela in Kishtwar

Over 600 aspirants participated; 300 plus applications received for 39 vacancies in HEP Companies

Kishtwar :  District Employment & Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Kishtwar, in Collaboration with Government ITI on Monday organised a one-day Job Fair cum Apprenticeship Mela   for the Job seekers and ITI students interested for Apprenticeship.

The aim of the fair was to register eligible job seekers for  different job vacancies in companies  engaged for construction of Hydro Power Project (HPP) in District Kishtwar.

The programme started with the welcome address from the hosts AD, Employment Kishtwar Amit Kumar and Principal ITI Kishtwar, Followed by speech by Dr. Mohd Ashraf, GM DIC Kishtwar.

Representatives from Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry Departments, DIC Kishtwar, KVIB, JP Associates Ltd. and L&T company spoke in detail about different self-employment schemes, job vacancies for job seekers & students.

A total of 39 vacancies were made available by JP Associates Ltd. and L&T companies working on PakalDul Hydro Electric Power Project.

More than 300 applications were received for the same which will be scrutinized and the final selections shall be made in coming days.

The Principal ITI and Concerned Faculty explained about the National Apprenticeship Programme Schemes (NAPS) and encouraged the ITI passouts , enrolled students and  the establishments present at the venue for registration.  Fifty candidates & 12 establishments were registered under NAPS on the spot.

The programme also facilitated on-spot registrations of around 200 job seekers & students for the J&K employment portal & NCS Portal.

To spread awareness regarding Self- Employment Schemes, different Govt. Departments like Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, SC/ST/OBC Corp., Handicraft/Handloom, District Industries centresKishtwar set up their stalls.

As many as 12 applications were received on the spot for availing loan under different  Self-Employment schemes.

Similarly, live-demo stalls were put up at the fair venue to aware youth about different ITI trades.
