Bandipora : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Monday chaired a meeting of officers to review the developmental scenario of Arin-Dardpora of Bandipora District.
Reviewing the various developmental issues of the Arin-Dardpora area, the DC said that the area has huge potential to be developed as a tourist spot.
He said the area is suitable for adventure tourism including trekking to Alpine meadows and lakes besides also for pilgrimage tourism as the area has some holy sites.
He said that the Administration believes in equitable development and always works on policies to provide the same opportunities to the people living in urban as well as rural areas.
Dr. Owais asked officers to tap the potential of the area to develop tourism infrastructure and other sectors for boosting the developmental needs of the area. He also emphasized on facilitating hassle free travel of tourists to the areas from a security point of view.
He said tourism promotion in the area will also develop employment opportunities for the local youth.
While reviewing the status of various developmental works, the DC directed the concerned to work in coordination with PRIs for smooth execution of all projects.
The meeting was attended by Commanding Officer, 14 RR; Joint Director Planning, ImtiyazAhma; DFO Bandipora, TehsildarBandipora, DySP HQ Bandipora and other concerned officers.
