SKUAST- J conducts CET-2022 for admission to UG courses

1947 candidates appear in Exam for 348 seats

JAMMU: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) today conducted Common Entrance Test-2022 (CET) for admission to six professional courses of undergraduate degree programmes in different faculties for the academic session 2022-23.

The entrance examination was held at four different centers located at GGM Science College, Jammu; Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Govt P.G College for Women, Gandhi Nagar; SKUAST-Jammu Mai Campus Chatha and Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, R S Pura.

Prof. J. P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu visited the centers to oversee the conduct of the entrance examination.

An overwhelming response was received for admissions to different professional undergraduate programmes in the university including B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering) and B.Tech (Dairy Technology) which is institutionalized for the 1st time in SKUAST-Jammu. It is the only university in Jammu and Kashmir offering admissions to B.Tech (Dairy Technology). In all 2433 candidates had applied for SKUAST-J CET-2022 for admission to 348 seats, out of which 1947 appeared in the test which comes to 80 per cent of the total applicants.

Besides these, 29 seats, including 18 seats under all India Quota will be filled through Indian Council of Agricultural Research in Agriculture and 11 seats in Veterinary Sciences by Veterinary Council of India. The test was conducted smoothly with appreciable support of the staff and the Principals and Deans of the respective institutions.

The SOPs and guidelines related to Covid-19 pandemic were adhered to during the test. The university Flying Squad comprising Dr S. K. Gupta, Director Extension, Dr. A. K. Mondal, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture and Dr. S. K. Gupta, Registrar, SKUAST-Jammu also visited the Examination centers to supervise the smooth conduct of examination. The examination was conducted under the overall coordination of Dr. Rakesh Nanda, Director Education and Dr. Rajinder Peshin, I/c SKUAST-Jammu Examination Cell. The university will also upload the answer key on the university website. Besides, result, schedule of the counseling and other updates shall also be available on the university website www.skuast.org.
