Srinagar: Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and veteran politician Ghulam Nabi Azad has said he would announce the name of his new political party within next ten days.

Addressing his first public rally at Dak Banglow in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district after parting ways from the All India Pradesh Congress Committee, Azad said he would form a new political party and announce its name during the next ten days.

He said there should be two third majority in Lok Sabha and 150 members in Rajya Sabha of a party who can bring back the article 370 to Jammu and Kashmir. “Where will it come from and why should I mislead the people on article 370”, he added.

He reiterated that he would fight for the restoration of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, no outsiders should purchase land and no jobs be provided to outsiders.

He challenged the leaders that they cannot kill his (Azad’s) thinking and for that they have to kill Ghulam Nabi Azad.

“I will not allow anybody to vote in the name of religion, politics, and regional issues either I will win or lose or get 4 votes or lakhs”, he added.

“I am telling the people you provide me support I will give you my blood to prosper your life”, Azad said and added “I will not tell people to elect me Chief Minister and I will bring stars from the sky…not possible…don’t get misled”, he cautioned the people.

He said during the past three years Jammu and Kashmir has seen many adverse changes. There had been a political crisis after every five to ten years in Kashmir valley right from independence, he said and added the attacks carried out from outside Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh suffered the most all these times.

Not only Hindus but Muslims, Sikhs and Christians were killed during all these years and every time, he said.

“Unfortunately the 33 years of militancy still not letting go down so far and Muslims, Pandits, Hindus and Sikhs are being killed”, he said and added “those who left the Kashmir valley and settled in other parts of India resulted in loss of economic, education and politically tremendously.”

He said during his tenure as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir there had been encounters and sometimes fake encounters happen also, but he never allowed any kind of human rights violation to take place.

Azad said “as a Chief Minister of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and I had a dream to see “Khushal Kashmir ‘ prosperous Kashmir and I started not only double shift but triple shift of work for development of the state which is evident to everyone.
