Police organizes anti-drug awareness rally in B’gam

Srinagar : Police in Budgam on Saturday organized an awareness rally under the banner of “Prevention of Drug Addiction”.

According to a statement issued from the Zonal Police Headquarters, Srinagar, the rally was attended by students and staff members of Government Boys Hr. Secondary School Magam, Government Girls Hr. Secondary School Magam, RMP School Magam and Green View School Magam. Besides, Traders Union Magam, youth and other respectable citizens of Magam area participated in the rally.

The awareness rally was flagged off by SDPO Magam Mohammad Saleem Bhat at Government Higher Secondary School Magam along with SHO Magam& other officers of Budgam Police, Principals of participating schools and senior members of Traders Union Magam. The rally passed through Bus Stand Magam, Main Market Magam and returned to Government Boys Higher Secondary School Magam where the rally culminated.

According to the above referred statement, the main aim of the rally was to spread awareness about ill effects of drug abuse and its consequences. SDPO Magam on the event appealed the general public to join hands with Police in curbing the abuse of drugs & related substances to eliminate this social evil from the society. Students/Participants were holding banners and placards in their hands with messages against substance abuse and raised slogans against the social evils and pledged to join their hands to eradicate this menace from the society.
