Rajouri : District Development Commissioner, Vikas Kundal, on Saturday chaired a meeting to discuss the execution plan for implementation of Open Defecation Free (ODF) Plus in the district.
Officers who attended the meeting were ADDC, Pawan Kumar; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ACD, Vijay Kumar; PO IWMP, SherazChowhan; DSEO, Sandeep Sharma; SDM ThanamandiVikasDhar and other concerned officers.
Taking stock of the progress made under the construction of the soakage pits in the district, the DDC asked the concerned officers to complete the set targets in this regard at the earliest.
Stressing on the effective management of grey water, he asked the BDOs to take effective measures to manage grey water in the rural areas.
With regard to segregation facilities, the DDC asked the BDOs to ensure the rational distribution of the segregation facilities so that every panchayat of their block has one segregation centre.
BDOs have also been directed to rope in NGOs already working in solid management work for the effective management of solid waste in their blocks. They were further asked to check the possibilities of whether the e rickshaws can be used for the transportation of the solid waste.
Addressing the officers , the DDC said that ODF Plus is an extension of the ODF program under the Swachch Bharat Mission. Its objective is to sustain the ODF programme and to take up solid and liquid waste management.
While exhorting the officers to work in tandem, he asked them to work with a missionary spirit so that the aim of the mission is achieved in the district.
