Ramban : District Election Officer, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, on Friday convened a meeting with representatives of political parties to discuss the Special Summary Revision, 2022 .
Dy. DEO, Lal Chand; TehsildarRamban, Rafiq Ahmed; Election NaibTehsildar Mohan Lal, other officials of the election department also attended the meeting.
The DEO informed the representatives of political parties about post delimitation exercises made by the administration including rationalization of polling stations, and the creation of new polling stations in Ramban and Banihal Assembly constituencies of the district.
The DEO informed the representatives that Special Summary Revision, 2022 shall be conducted for 40 days and start from September 15, 2022.
The DEO stated that any person “attaining the age of 18 years on or before October 1, 2022, and is otherwise qualified to be enrolled as an elector in the Electoral Roll, can apply online or offline mode for his registration during the Special Summary Revision. The DEO urged the political parties to submit the list of their BLAs, and cooperate with the election staff deputed for SSR in their areas.
Responding to the certain issues raised by the representatives regarding the inclusion of news voters, correction in names, duplication of voters, relocation of polling stations, etc, the DEO said that BLOs have been trained and sensitized regarding the Special Summary Revision exercise. He informed that special camps are being held on September 24 and 25 and October 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2022 at all polling stations for the inclusion of newly eligible voters and correction in names.
