Ganderbal : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir on Friday convened a meeting of officers from line departments to review the physical and financial progress on the projects besides implementation of various schemes in the district.
During the meeting, the DC reviewed the physical and financial progress on the projects that are under the execution of KPDCL, Education, R&B, Jal Shakti, RDD and other departments in the district.
He sought details from the concerned departments and executing agencies regarding the progress achieved on projects and threadbare discussion was also held regarding the delay in completion of various projects for which the timelines were fixed.
While reviewing the education sector in the district, the CEO Ganderbal was directed to ensure all basic minimum facilities including water, power and functional toilets are available in all schools. He was also asked to present reasons of low literacy among females and measures initiated for enhancing the same.
The meeting also discussed the power scenario in the district and SE KPDCL was asked to finalize the list of transformers that need to be upgraded so that damage of transformers is minimized in winters and was asked to take measures to reduce the transmission and distribution losses and risk percentage.
The DC stressed upon the concerned agencies to monitor the execution of ongoing works in the district by way of frequent field visits and exhorted the concerned officers to identify the bottlenecks, if any and bring them into the notice of District Administration so that they are sorted out as early as possible.
Meanwhile, the DC also reviewed the status of implementation of various beneficiary oriented schemes in the district and directed all the departments to start vigorous awareness campaigns regarding the beneficiary oriented schemes and self-employment generation programmes so that deserving beneficiaries are benefited.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; ADC, Farooq Ahmad Baba; CPO, IrfanGiri; ACD, ACR, SE KPDCL, SE R&B, Executive Engineers of various wings and other district Officers.
