GCW Gandhinagar bids farewell to outgoing Students

Jammu :  To bid adieu to the outgoing 6th Semester, the Students Welfare Committee and Cultural Committee of Govt. PG College for Women Gandhinagar organised Farewell Party here on Thursday in the College Auditorium with great zest and fervour.

The Programme started with the bouquet presentation to Prof. MinuMahajan, the Principal of the College and the Chief Guest of the day  by  Prof. KamleshSalathia , Dean Sciences and Prof. MamtaSharma,Dean Commerce. The traditional lamp was lit  by the Chief Guest , Deans and Convenors to invoke the Goddess to shower her blessings.Dr. RevikaArora, the Cultural Convenor of the College presented her Welcome Address. The Journey to clinch the title of  GCWGandhinagar was divided into three rounds – Introduce Yourself, Talented You and Beauty with Brain.

The first introductory round started with the Ramp walk and self- Introduction by the Contestants. Dr. RamandeepKour, Dr. Ashma Gupta and Prof. MamtaKundal judged this round. The students of sem-4 flavoured the event with their wonderful cultural presentation in between.

The 15 shortlisted Contestants exhibited their talent through dance and singing during the second round of the competition which was  judged by Dr. RevikaArora, Prof. Malti Rajput, Prof. NidhiSuri and Prof. Neelam.

PoojaChargotra,  RaziaBano,  Sania, Tanya Sharma,  BharatiChoudhary and  SupriyaUttam were selected for the final round where they have to prove themselves a beauty with brain by answering the questions asked by the Judges Dr. Neelima G, Dr. SurajMohini and Dr. PoojaCharak.

RaziaBano, the 2nd runner-up,   SupriyaUttam, the 1st runner-up and  PoojaChargotra were conferred with the  Prestigious title of GCW Gandhinagar.

Some special Titles and Gifts were also distributed among the deserving ones sponsored by TallaJewellers.Prof. MinuMahajan,the Principal of the College congratulated all the winners and wished success to them in all future endeavours. The Programme concluded with the Cake cutting and celebrations.
