DDC Kupwara presides over Jashn-e-Handwara Prog

Says “Admin committed for holistic, equitable devof Kupwara Distt”

Kupwara :  The Municipal Committee Handwaraon Thursday organized a colourfulprogramme under the banner ‘Jashn-e-Handwara’ at Environment Hall Handwara.

The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray was chief guest at the occasion.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir; ASP Handwara, CEO Kupwara, Municipal Committee President Handwara, MasroorBanday, Chairman MC Kupwara, Reyaz Mir, President MC Langate, Shahnawaz Abdullah, DDC Member, Mir Suliman, besides, school children, PRIs and a large number of people attended the programme.

Addressing the function, the DDC said that the District Administration is committed for holistic and equitable development of all areas of the district including Handwara sub division. He said the Government has already sanctioned a Medical College at Handwara which will boost ancillary health facilities in the district when completed, besides,  boosting livelihood opportunities.

Regarding drug menace, the DDC urged upon the PRIs and general public to extend their support for complete eradication of the drug abuse from the district. “With the active cooperation of the general public, PRIs and dedicated efforts of officers and officials of administration, the district Kupwara will soon become the drug free district”, the DDC said.

On the occasion, the DDC also distributed Certificates of Appreciation among the best performing students.

Earlier, the DDC inspected the stalls installed by various departments and enquired about their schemes offered to the beneficiaries.

Meanwhile various speakers also spoke on the occasion.

During the programme, children from different schools across the district performed colourful cultural programmes and received applause from the audience.
