Awareness camp under RashtriyaPoshanMaahorganised at Batote

Ramban : An awareness camp was organized by ICDS Ramban in collaboration with the Health Department under RashtriyaPoshanMaah 2022 at DakBunglowBatote, on Tuesday.

The programme was inaugurated by BDC, Chairperson, Rajeshwar Kumar in presence of District Programme Officer (DPO), ICDS, Jahangir Hashmi.

Among others, PRIs, CDPO, RavinderKour, Supervisors, Anganwadi Workers and Helpers, besides prominent citizens of Batote and Sanasar areas were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the  Chief Guest assured full cooperation of Panchayat BDC and other Panchayat Raj Institutions to the department in the promotion of the campaign. He also urged upon the field functionaries vizAWWs and Supervisors to intensify mass awareness about all the Schemes of ICDS, PoshanAbhiyaanetc in the rural and urban areas    for creating awareness among the common masses.

Highlighting the importance of a balanced diet for children, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers, the DPO, ICDS said that healthy children and women are imperative for a healthy society. He impressed upon all field functionaries to work with zeal and dedication so that eligible persons could be covered under the ICDS schemes. He also interacted with the ICDS staff and PRI members and listened to their  problems.

During the camp, several beneficiaries, including pregnant women were educated about the benefits of balanced diet and personal hygiene through exhibition, skits and songs. The women and adult girls were also imparted awareness about the importance of consumption of nutritious and balanced diet, maintenance of hygiene, besides the hazardous health effects due to deficient intake of different micro and macro nutrients during pregnancy and lactation.

On the occasion the weight and blood samples of pregnant women and infants were also collected for screening.

Later, a pledge to eradicate the menace of drug addiction from society was also administered  to the ICDS officers, staff, besides PRIs and general public present on the occasion.
