Rajouri : With the motive to intensify awareness of the importance of nutrition for health during nutrition week, the NSS Unit of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University organised various events for nutritional awareness among the community.
According to a statement issued from the Public Relations Office of the University the Vice Chancellor Prof. Akbar Masood said that
good health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. Prof. Akbar mentioned the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.
On the occasion, the NSS unit of the University distributed nutrition kits and hygiene kits among the students of two nearby Govt. Schools. On both occasions, students were informed about the value of nutritious food for their overall growth and development. Interactive sessions were organised with the teachers of the schools and community members regarding the need and importance of nutritious food for the school-going children. Tagline and slogan writing competitions were also organised in the University to educate students, faculty and staff regarding the need and importance of celebrating national nutrition week. Dr Parwez Abdullah, Programme Coordinator, NSS, coordinated the activities of the event.
