Kishtwar : The NashaMukt JK Abhiyan get a further shot in arm in Kishtwar as the Son of the Soil and Ace Shooter of the of India Subedar Chain Singh on Tuesday appealed the Youth of the district to stay away from Drugs and take keen interest in Sports activities and make it as their career.
An ace Indian sports shooter and a Junior Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army, Chain Singh hails from Chenab Valley.
He was on a day long tour to District Kishtwar and stole a few moments to visit the office of District Youth Services & Sports Department and interacted with the Sports fraternity.
Chain Singh has represented the country in Olympics in 2016, besides he has won 20 international medals for the country which includes 12 Gold, 03 Silver and 05 Bronze medals in mega competitions like Asian Games, Asian championship, shooting world cups, commonwealth Games and South Asian Games.
At National championship competitions he has won 78 medals which include 47 Gold, 16 silver and 05 Bronze medals
At DYSSO Office Kishtwar, he was affectionately received and welcomed by DYSSO KharatiLal Sharma along with other Sports teachers.
The DYSSO briefed him about the Sports scenario in the District and apprised him about various achievement made by local students in the sports.
Chain Singh urged the Sports fraternity to make seamless efforts to motivate the youth and students to take part in the sports activities where there are even the best opportunities to get govt jobs under various govt sponsored schemes.
Conveying his message to youth of Kishtwar, Chain Singh urged them to aptly choose sports instead of Drugs and make their life a grand success which is full of prestige.
