DDC Chairperson reviews arrangements for Urs Qamar-ud-Din Bukhari at G’bal

Ganderbal : The District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson Ganderbal, NuzhatIshfaqon Friday chaired a meeting to review and finalize the arrangements for Urs Mubarak HazratQamar-Ud-Din Bukhari at ReshiporaSaloora, here.

During the meeting, it was informed that 4-day ursmubarak shall start from 7th September and the main congregation shall be held at HazratQamar-ud-Din Bukhari ReshiporaSaloora.

After threadbare discussion, the meeting finalized the arrangements for power supply, adequate safe drinking water supply, firefighting measures, traffic and parking plan, sanitation measures in and around the shrine, installation of stalls and other related arrangements.

The DDC Chairperson directed all the departments to ensure all the arrangements pertaining to their departments are put in place by or before 6th September.

She Directed Municipal Council Ganderbal to ensure cleanliness in and around the shrine and executive engineer PDD was directed to ensure 24*7 power supply in the area besides availability of gen set at the main venue.

Similarly, the police and traffic officials were directed to ensure proper security and traffic regulations on routes leading to the shrine where large congregations are expected.

The ARTO was directed to make proper transport and parking arrangements.

The meeting also discussed clearance of obstacles for revival of the traditional water navigation route from Zero Bridge to Ziyarat Syed Qamar Din Bukhari.

The DDC Chairperson said that a massive rally will be held of water transport consisting of boats, shikaras and water boats carrying devotees and artists from Zero Bridge to Ziyarat to exhibit cultural festivities for observance of UrsQamar Din Bukhari.

She directed I&FC, R&B, Forest and Fisheries department to carry joint inspection of water route and clear all obstacles in water bodies including weeds, bushes for holding smooth water convoy of boats and shikaras.

The meeting was attended by President Municipal Council Ganderbal, Hilal Ahmad, ADDC Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, ASP, FerozYehya, Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti, PDD and I&FC, DFO Sindh Forest Division Ganderbal, TehsildarGanderbal and other concerned.
