Career Counseling on Civil Services Exam conducted in PGGCW  Jammu

Jammu :  Department of Political Science, Government (PG) College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu on Friday organised a career counselling session on the competitive civil services examination here in the college auditorium.

The session was held under the patronage of Prof. MinuMahajan, Principal of the college. She motivated the students to achieve success in the civil services examination. She expounded that the civil services examination is considered as one of the challenging exams in the country because it tests perseverance, dedication, discipline and determination.

Around 750 Students participated in the session and gave a patient hearing.

Prof. Paramjeet Singh, Convenor of the session, welcomed the principal, students and resource person. Gautam Kumar of SR College of Competitions, Jammu was the resource person. He briefed comprehensively about the pattern of examination i.e. Prelims, Mains and Interview being conducted by UPSC.

He spelled out that one must start preparation in advance strictly as per syllabus provided by UPSC to clear prelims and mains examination beside reading and noting of National daily News papers especially editorial columns and perusal of NCERT textbooks from 6th to 12th standard.

Convener IQAC, Dr. Suresh Bhatt was present on the occasion. Faculty members of the department Dr. PoojaCharak, Dr. Harmeet Singh, Dr. Vandana Sharma organised the event.
