Srinagar : Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Friday said that Ghulam Nabi Azad was responsible for the massacre of Muslims in mainland India. Also, Apni Party President reiterated that the former Congress leader played a key role in the abrogation of Articles 370, and 35A by voting in favour of the abrogation of these constitutional laws in the Rajya Sabha.

According a statement issued from the party headquarters the Apni Party President in an interview said, “I wonder how Azad Sahib can even demand the restoration of Articles of 370 and 35A, given the fact that he played an important role in its abrogation when he was the leader of the opposition.” He added, “BJP had not sufficient numbers in the Rajya Sabha, thus it was not capable to pass the abrogation of these laws. But Azad Sahib, who was the leader of the opposition at that time chose to give his and his party colleagues’ vote in favour of BJP’s move to abrogate these Articles.”Apni Party President urged the former Congress leader not to allure Kashmiri youth with emotional slogans about Article 370 and 35 A for his political and personal gains.

He said, “I would request him not to exploit Kashmiri youth by deceptive slogans which suggest that you are going to restore pre-August 5, 2019, the situation here. Such deceptive claims would emotionalize our youth and push them to a situation wherein many of them end up landing in graveyards. We have had enough of killings and bloodshed here, please stop playing with the emotions of our youngsters.” Taking a dig at Azad, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said that “Azad and Sanjay Gandhi were responsible for the killings of Muslims in Delhi,” He said, “Azad and Sanjay Gandhi were directly responsible for the infamous Turkman gate demolition and firing incident in which a number of Muslims were gunned down and many were subjected to brutality and oppression.” He also alleged that Azad was responsible for the deteriorating situation in Jammu and Kashmir from time to time.

He said, “Azad was always sitting in Delhi spreading mischief and anxiety for Kashmir while his role has always been negative,” he said, adding that the Congress party did not need him now, that’s why he resigned.”
