Kupwara : The District Administration Kupwara on Thursday facilitated the live streaming of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan launching ceremony at D.C Office Kupwara.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray presided the function while as the Principals of Government Degree College Boys/ Girls, Kupwara; ACR, Chief Education Officer, CMO, DSWO and other concerned were present at the occasion.
Speaking at the event, DC urged all stakeholders and concerned officers to play a proactive role and work unanimously to make district Kupwara Nasha Mukt district. He stressed the need for involvement of religious leaders, and PRIs to generate awareness at grassroots level against the ill effects of drug addiction. He said the media also has a major role to disseminate awareness against drug abuse and ill effects of drugs on society.
The DC directed heads of the Educational Institutionsof the district to vigorously participate in the scheduled IEC campaign against drug addiction.
He said the campaign will continue for one month and appealed to the youth, NGOs, cultural organizations and other stakeholders to come forward and play their role in disseminating awareness against the drugs.
He also asked the concerned officers who are involved in the rehabilitation programme to play their role in a big way to make the district free from drug menace.
The Live streaming was also facilitated at various Educational Institutions across Kupwara district. Meanwhile, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, pledges have been taken by the students of all Degree Colleges, Higher Secondary Schools, High Schools and Middle schools across the district. The students pledged that they will make all possible efforts to make themselves and the society Nasha Mukt, free from drugs.
