Anantnag : Acting on a tip off, the Food Safety Officer Anantnag conducted raids at several market places in Anantnag and recovered 1000kgs of counterfeit ghee here on Wednesday.
As per reports, packed in secondary and tertiary packages as Verkadesi ghee, counterfeit ghee is being sold at lower rates in the market. The ghee is being imported from outside and sold in the local market. The Office of FSO Anantnag has started a full fledged investigation into the matter to book the culprits.
The general public is requested to properly check the packaging of ghee before buying and report any counterfeit ghee being sold to the Food Safety Office.
