DDC Kupwara directs officers to follow timeline strictly for completion of dev works

Kupwara :  The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Doifode SagarDattatrayon Wednesday fixed timeline for completion of various ongoing development works in Handwara subdivision of Kupwara district and directed concerned officers to follow the target without any fail, adding that any deviation from directions would invite action as per law.

The DDC was addressing a well attended block diwasprogramme at Environmental Hall, Handwara, here.

SSP Handwara, ADC Handwara, elected members of Panchayat Raj Institutions including DDC Member Mir Sulaiman, Khursheed Ahmad, Advocate Zahoor Ahmad, Chairman MC Handwara, Chairman MC Langate, BDCs, District Officers, Engineers, traders associations and general public attended the block diwas.

Addressing the gathering, the DDC said that the Government is committed to provide equal developmental opportunities to people living in rural as well as urban areas. He said holding of Public Darbar in different areas of the district is tantamount to reaching out to doorsteps of people and getting first hand feedback regarding their requirements and developmental issues.

The DDC heard developmental issues of all members of PRI and senior citizens patiently and directed concerned officers on spot to address the grievances of the concerned. He fixed timeline for completion of the works and gave target to the concerned officers. He also resolved various issues on spot.

The DDC directed Superintendent Engineer Hydraulic to keep sharing general information regarding water supply schemes under JalJeevan Mission (JJM) with PRIs.

Regarding the issue of Municipal Diwas, the DDC said that Municipal Diwas shall be held in Handwara, Kupwara and Langate Municipalities in coming days.

Regarding income certificates not generated through an online portal at Tehsil Qalamabad, the DDC directed ADC Handwara to submit a detailed report within 2 days.

Regarding drug menaces, the DDC appreciated the public for raising the voice against the drugs and assured that a vigorous campaign against use of drugs shall be initiated across the district.

Earlier, various PRIs and senior citizens spoke on the occasion and projected developmental issues of their respective areas and constituencies.

District officers also spoke and replied to queries raised by the PRIs.

On the directions of DC Kupwara, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat chaired a Block Diwas cum Grievance camp at Budnamal.

DDC Member Chowkibal, Habibullah Beigh; BDC Chairperson,  Firdous Ahmad; Tehsildar, BDO, BMO, SHO, besides, PRIs, general public and representatives from various departments attended the day long block diwas function.

On the occasion, the ADC heard various developmental issues and grievances of the PRIs and general public and passed onspot directions to the concerned officers for redressal of various issues of the people.

SDM Karnah, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather chaired block diwas function at Mini Secretariat Tangdar. BDC Chairperson Tangdar, Sub Division level officers, PRIs and general public attended the day long block diwas function.
