Srinagar : The Yogasana competition organised by J&K Sports Council and J&K Yogasana Association saw more than 300 participants compete in different age categories in Traditional Artistic Singles, Artistic Group and Rhythmic events in Indoor Hall Sports Complex Pologround, Srinagar here on Tuesday.
The event is part of the special sports initiative under ‘My Youth MY Pride’ programme which is aimed at tapping the talent besides saving youth from drug abuse.
The participants were drawn from the different educational institutes of district Srinagar including schools and colleges comprising both boys and girls.
The stand out performance among the girls was of ToibaNazir who was declared as the best player of the championship in girls category while in boys category Bilal Ahmad Dar emerged as the player of the championship.
Similarly at Pulwama, competitions in the disciplines of Thang-Ta and Badminton were held which witnessed a participation of a large number of players from all the adjoining panchayats of Tral.
More events in other sports disciplines are being held under the special initiative all across J&K.
