DC B’gam takes Deptt wise review of progress of deliverables

DM emphasizes on completion of works within stipulated time frame, Narco Coordination meet held at B’gam too

Budgam : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid on Tuesday chaired a meeting of officers to take department wise review of progress of deliverables in the district at Conference Hall, here.

While taking the detailed department wise review of deliverables allocated to each line department in the district, the DC stressed on coordination among the departments.

He emphasized on proper monitoring and follow up for 100 percent achievement by all departments.

Various officers were designated as nodal officers to ensure work is expedited for 100 percent saturation in every scheme.

He said all deliverables are aimed for comprehensive and overall upliftment of socio-economic prosperity of the district.

On the occasion, all the departments presented the status of various developmental works undertaken and in pipeline in various sectors including Jal Shakti, Social Welfare, Tourism, Social Forestry, PWD, PMGSY, Health, Education, Rural development, Revenue, Animal Husbandry and others.

DC called for accomplishment of all deliverables within a stipulated time frame and submit action taken reports on a daily basis.

He stressed to expedite the pace of work and ensure proper monitoring and follow ups on each deliverable.

The meeting among others was attended by JD Planning, GM DIC, CEO YDA, CEO, CMO, ACD, ACP and other District and Sectoral Officers.

  The 2nd NCORD meeting of district Budgam was on Tuesday held at Sheikh ulAlam Hall of DC Office here under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid  At the outset, SSP Budgam threw light on the drug abuse, its causes and prevention. He briefed about the measures Budgam Police has been taking for  prevention of drug abuse like carrying out frequent awareness rallies and conducting awareness programmes/seminars in schools, colleges and during Thana Diwas at Police Stations throughout the district.

He informed that in the Control part, they are taking stringent legal action against those found indulging in drug peddling and in the Rehabilitation part they are conducting counseling and providing treatment to those who have become victims of drug abuse.

The DC took feedback from officers of the last NCORD meeting held on 30 June, 2022 and laid emphasis on taking effective measures against drug abuse in the district. He enjoined upon the officers to ensure zero tolerance towards drug abuse and stressed for better coordination among various departments & implementation of innovative ideas in controlling drug abuse.

The DC further briefed the officers of Excise, Drug Control and Health Department to take all measures in controlling the drug menace.

Threadbare discussion was made about control of cultivation of poppy and all stakeholders were advised to do scientific mapping of those areas of district Budgam where such cultivation is being done.

The DC stressed upon the officers to implement the agenda points in letter and spirit and make district Budgam a Drug Abuse free district.

Among others, SSP Budgam, Addl DC Budgam,  Chief Medical Officer Budgam, Chief Education Officer Budgam, DFO TT Division Budgam, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Budgam, District Information Officer Budgam, Assistant Drug Controller Budgam, DSWO Budgam, Dy.SP Headquarters Budgam, Excise and Taxation Officer Budgam attended the meeting.
