Drug peddler arrested in B’la, Bung destruction drive launched in G’bal : Police

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that has arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and also recovered psychotropic substance from his possession besides launching a bug destruction drive in Ganderbal.
In a statement issued from the Zonal Police Headquarters here,Police said that officers from PS Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Ushkara Baramulla arrested a drug peddler identified as Momin Rashid Najar son of Late Ab Rashid Najar resident of Mohalla Jalal Sahib Baramulla, Stating therein further that during searcjes officers recovered 664 tablets of Spasmoproxyvon from his possession. Police in it’s above referred statement also said that it also registered a case under relevant sections of law in the Police Station Baramulla later and investigation too has been initiated.

In the above referred stated police also said that Police parties from PS Ganderbal & PS Kheerbawani headed by respective SHOs along with Excise & Revenue Department officials launched a special drive against wild bung at Saloora, Qamaria road, Larsen and other adjacent areas, Stating therein further that during the drive huge quantity of wild bung was destroyed.
Claiming that during the drive, the general public of the area widely appreciated the action taken by the Police, Police in the concluding para of the above referred statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood.
