Shopian : On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, a joint team of Revenue and Police Officers headed by Tehsildar, Chitragam, SDPO, Zainapora, on Saturday held an anti-encroachment drive at Village Heff of Tehsil Chitragam.
During the drive, in which NT, SHO concerned along with concerned officials assisted in the encroachment drive, 45 kanals of state and kahcharai land was on spot retrieved from the land grabbers/ encroachers of the village. The drive was monitored and supervised by SDM Zainapora, Mushtaq Ahmad.
Acting tough upon the land encroachers, the District Administration, Shopian has on various occasions appealed people against indulging in state/kahcharai land encroachments and warned of strict action against those persons found involved in the encroachments.
The District Administration also intends to conduct anti-encroachment drives in the future as well to retrieve the illegal usurped lands.
