Azad’s Dozen loyalists quit Congress in J&K

Jammu: Around a dozen senior Congress leaders including former ministers and legislative have resigned from the party in support of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Former Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha,Ghulam Nabi Azad who parted ways from Congress after 50-years on Friday.
Reports said five leaders, including former minister Ghulam Muhammad Saroori, a party stalwart from Chenab valley region and front runner for JKPCC president post along with Haji Abdul Rashid party’s face in Kashmir Baramulla, Mohd Amin Bhat from Kulgam Kashmir, Gulzar Ahmad Wani from Anantnag and Choudhary Mohammad Akram, submitted a joint letter of resignation. All of them said they were resigning from the basic membership of the party in support of Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Furthermore, Former Minister Jugal Kishor Sharma from Reasi, Former Minister R S Chib, two former MLCs Sham Lal Bhagat and Naresh Gupta, Congress National spokesperson Salman Nazmi, district presidents from Doda and Kishtwar also parted away from Congress party.
