Srinagar : Mayor Srinagar Junaid Azim Mattu along with Commissioner SMC Athar Amir Khan on Thursday laid foundation stone of an iconic pedestrian bridge connecting Mahjoor Nagar and Jawahar Nagar tomorrow Mahjoor Nagar Bandh.
According to a statement issued from the Public Relations Office of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation the foundation was laid in presence of the concermed Corporator Mohd Saleem Bhat, Corporator Ghulam Nabi Bhat. He was further informed that the approved cost for the brighe is Rs 4.95 crores with a total road length of 106 meters approximately.
Mayor who was flanked by senior officers of Corporation and officials from Engineering wing on the occassion was further informed that the said project would be completed within a period of twelve months. While interacting with the locals of the area Mayor said this was a long-awaited and crucial community project to be delivered by SMC and we will be doing best to our abilities to take development on all fronts be it construction of pedestrian bridges , setting up of these community facilitation centres, proper roads and drainage network .
Mayor while expressing his gratitude to the people of the area especially the elderly persons said the pedestrian bridge will be completed in a time bound manner. Commissioner SMC Athar also assured the people that the said pedestrian bridge will be completed within a stipulated time with the efforts of engineering wing.
