Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has booked fourn drug peddlers under Public Safety Act (PSA) in Sopore after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.In a statement issued from the Zonal Police Headquarters here, Police said that four drug peddlers have been arrested in Sopore, Stating therein further that the said drug peddlers have also been identified as Aadil Sultan Malla S/O Muhammad Sultan Malla R/O Sheikh Sahib Chinkipora Sopore, Aadil Ashraf Khan S/O Muhammad Ashraf Khan R/O Pethseer Sopore, Suhail Ahmad Ganie S/O Abdul Khaliq Ganie R/OModel Town Sopore and Bilal Ahmad Ganie S/O Ghulam Ahmad Ganie R/O Hathishah Sopore. Police in it’s above referred statement also said that all the accused persons were promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of PD Sopore.
Stating that the cases were subsequently processed and after obtaining sanctions from the competent authority the arrested drug peddlers were detained under Public Safety Act and have been lodged in Kot-Balwal Jail Jammu. Police in the concluding para of the above quoted statement said that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken as part of the efforts made to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
