Bandipora : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Tuesday held a meeting with the officers of Tourism, Forest, Army and other concerned departments to review the preparations for the Wullar Festival scheduled to be held on August 29.
The meeting was held to discuss various plans to be adopted for successful conduct of the Wullar Festival.
The DC directed the officers to take up additional measures to avoid inconvenience to people participating in the festival.
It was given out that Departmental stalls will be installed at festival location, besides the involvement of Senior citizens, PRIs and students shall also be ensured.
The meeting discussed various modalities to conduct Shikara Rally, Boat Race, Painting Competition, Quiz Competition, bird watching and other activities.
The meeting also discussed various measures to be taken for conducting the Gurez festival. It was informed that various adventure- related activities will be held during the Gurez Festival for tourism promotion in the area.
The meeting was attended by ADC Bandipora Waseem Raja, District Programme Officer ICDS Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, DFO Bandipora and other concerned officers from Army and Civil Administration.
The meeting was also virtually attended by Officers of Tourism, and Tehsildar Gurez.
