Grenade lobbing incident on minority cracked in B’gam, 2 Hybrid militants held : Police

B’gam : Police on Saturday said that it has cracked a grenade lobbing incident on minority community by arresting two hybrid militants in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
In a statement issued on Saturday Police said that during the late evening hours of 15th August this year one grenade lobbing incident took place at Gopalpora Chadoora in which one person of minority community namely Krishna Kumar was injured and subsequently shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment, Stating therein further that a case FIR number 147/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Chadoora and senior Police Officers had visited the spot where they had also investigated the scene of crime.
Stating that during the course of investigation, one small CCTV footage was collected which revealed that two scooty born suspects are involved in the grenade lobbing incident, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that many suspects were picked up for questioning and during further investigation, police received inputs about the involvement of one Sahil Ahmad Wani S/O Ghulam Mohammad Wani R/O Tangnar Kralpopra Chadoora in the incident.
“The said individual was arrested and during his sustaining questioning, he admitted that he along with main conspirator and hybrid militant namely Altaf Farooq @ Amir son of Farooq Ahmad Rather R/O Tangnar Kralpora are involved in the commission of crime”, reads the above referred police statement, adding that “After the inputs, the police raided and arrested the individual and during the search of the individual, posters of TRF militant outfit along with some incriminating material and one hand grenade was recovered”.
Police in it’s above referred statement also said that the scooty bearing registration No.JK01AH- 7426 make TVS used in the commission of crime has also been seized in the instant case, Stating therein further that the accused namely Altaf Farooq @Amir has also been found involved in the illegal transfer of money, receipt and distribution of funds from the militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement Police said that the investigation of the case is at its earlier stage and more arrests and recoveries are expected, Stating therein further that the grenade was thrown at the behest of the directions of Lashkar-e-Toiba (TRF) militants to create atmosphere of fear among the society.
