DGP sanctions over Rs. 2.15 Cr Spl Welfare/Ex-gratia relief

Rs 1 lakh financial assistance also sanctioned for marriage of daughter of slain cops

DGP sanctions Rs.2.04 crore as Spl Welfare Relief for NoKs of slain, deceased police personnel,SPOs

Srinagar : Director General J&K Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned over rupees 1.22 Cr Special Welfare Relief for NoKs of deceased Police personnel and SPOs. The DGP has also sanctioned Rs 93.50 lakh ex-gratia relief to legal heirs of Police personnel and SPO who have died in the line of duty.

According to a statement issued from Police Headquarters the DGO has sanctioned ex-gratia relief of Rs 38 lakh each to dependents and legal heirs of slain HC Ali Mohammad Ganie and Constable Tawseef Ahmad Wani. Similarly Rs 17.50 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs slain SPO Shafat Nazir Khan.
The Special Welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased Police personnel ASI Manzoor Ahmad, HCs Shalinder Singh, Vinod Kumar, Followers Ghulam Hassan and Nazir Ahmad. The deceased personnel have passed away due to illness/ natural death while in service.
Rs one lakh each was already paid to NoKs of these slain/deceased police personnel for performing last rites through their concerned units. The Special Welfare Relief is sanctioned out of Contributory Police Welfare Funds.
Similarly Rs 6 lakh each as Special Welfare Relief has been sanctioned in favour of NoKs of deceased SPOs Swarn Singh and SPO Abdul Hamid Sheikh who have passed away during the course of their engagement in the department.
Rs 50 thousand each was already paid to their families for performing last rites. The amount is sanctioned out of the Contributory Welfare Fund of SPOs.
Besides, the DGP has also sanctioned Rupees one lakh as financial assistance in favour of NoKs of slain constable to defray the expenses in connection with the marriage ceremony of his daughter.
Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of it’s personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of slain cops, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.
