BGSBU organises a one-day National workshop on teaching of Arabic language

Rajouri : As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the Department of Arabic, BGSBU organized a One Day National Workshop on the topic” Teaching of Arabic language and Literature in Pri Panjal Region.
According to a statement issued from the Public Relations Office of the University the Vice-Chancellor, BGSBU, Prof. Akbar Masood in his message said that Arabic is a living language and it is spoken and understood all around the world. He mentioned that the literature in the Arabic language is very rich and valuable. Prof. Akbar congratulated the Department of Arabic for organizing such a workshop. Prof. Akbar lauded the efforts of the department in promoting the Arabic language and literature in Jammu and Kashmir.
The inaugural session was chaired by Prof. Iqbal Pervez, Dean of Academic Affairs. In his address, Prof. Iqbal Parwez congratulated the Head Department of Arabic and Associate Dean Dr. Shams Kamal Anjum and his entire team for organizing this important workshop and said that “ among the many achievements of the Department of Arabic in a very short period is that it has produced many scholars who are contributing in the promotion of Arabic language and literature in Pir Panjal region and Jammu and Kashmir.
Prof. Abdul Majid Qazi, Head Department of Arabic, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi presented the keynote address. Prof. Abdul Majid Qazi in his keynote address while speaking on the history of the Arabic Language and Literature in Pir Panjal said that the Arabic language besides being a religious language has a history of sixteen centuries and its literary heritage is one of the richest and vast among the world’s great language,it is one of those living languages which’s future has been bright and shall remain bright.
Dr. Shams Kamal Amjum, Associate Dean, School of Languages and Islamic Studies presented the welcome address and highlighted the aims and objectives of the workshop.
Those who participated in the workshop included Prof. Anzar Ahmad,PG College Rajouri, Dr. Mamoon Jami , PG College Rajouri, Dr. Mushataq Anjum ,GDC Koteranka, Dr. Musarrat Jabeen, GDC Surankote , Prof. Shaista Jabeen, GDC Poonch , Dr. Jabeen Naz,HEM College, Dr. Ayaz Ahmad, PG College Rajouri , Dr. Tafseef Ayyoubi, GDC Kulgam Dr. Naseem GUl , Co coordinator Department o Islamic Studies , BGSBU , Janab Abdul Basit Qazi, Dr. Liyaqat Nayyer , Dr. Asif Malik , D. Rizwana Shamshi , Dr. Md. Affan. Dr Mohd Azam, Dr.Manzar Alam. Dr Aqeela, Dr Ibraheem including the teachers and research Scholars and students of various departments participated in the workshop and expressed their views.
