Dental College Jmu concludes Week long I-Day celebration activities

Jammu : Dental College, Jammu on Wednesday concluded week long Independence Day celebration activities organised under the aegis of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” with a scintillating valedictory function held Wednesday.
The students, staff and faculty of the institution organised a series of multicultural activities and presentations in the institution from 10th August, 2022 to 17th August. The Faculty of the institution contributed a lot in hosting the activities by way of inviting luminary academicians, Army veterans who served the nation for decades and witnessed different milestones of experiences in nourishing the country by their wisdom and physical acts.
The events hosted during the week long programme included Lectures by prominent academician and citizens on the heroes of freedom struggle of India, Pledge e-poster competitions, physical poster competition on the Independence Movement of India, involving more than 100 students, Quiz competition on the theme of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” Singing and dancing competition with “Desh Bhakti Encompassing” and poster making competition was organised by the conservative dentistry department , skit on patriotism, Nukad Sabha on Azadi Ke heroes, walkathon involving 100 students in collaboration with Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director sports and physical education, University of Jammu.
All the ex-faculty and staff were invited for the concluding event and they were felicitated for their services in oral dental health care making contribution in the development of IGGDC, Jammu. During the 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav three generations were present on the platform who have contributed, other one’s who are contributing and who are likely to take the torch forward for the oral-dental health welfare in U.T. J&K.
Principal of Government Dental College, Jammu Dr.RakeshK.Gupta, in his address at the concluding day extended greetings to all students, staff, faculty, invited guests for their overwhelming participation in the event.
He also mentioned the PM’s vision of making Bharat Vishwa Guru along the lines of Atamnirbhar Bharat.
Earlier, Dr. Parveen Akhter Lone, Professor and HOD of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Chairperson Academic welcomed the invited guests and dignitaries.
Dr.Azhar Malik, Professor and HOD, Conservative Dentistry, (Incharge Cultural event) alongwith Dr.Ajay Gupta and Dr.Rudra and his team conducted and co-ordinated the weeklong programme. Dr.Azhar Malik was instrumental in organising the week long activities.
Dr. Ritesh Gupta, Dr. Satvinder Singh, Dr.ArvindMengi, Dr.Ajay Gupta, Dr. Shamim Anjum, Dr. Rachna Dhani, Dr.Rudra Kaul, Dr. Ravinder Bhagat, Dr. Kanchan Bhagat and Dr. Ashish Singh, all Faculty, Medical Superintendent, Dy. Medical Superintendent, Administrative Officer and the participating students and staff made the programme a grand success.
Dr. Bhawna Kaul, Professor and HOD of Pedodontics presented vote of thanks.
