Cluster University (J) hosts ‘Ek sham shaheedon ke naam’

Jammu : A cultural programme Ek Sham Shaheedon ke Naam was organised by the office of Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) to celebrate 75 years of Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav here on Wednesday.
The program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Prof Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu. The programme started with the auspicious lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana.
All the constituent colleges and schools of Cluster University participated in the Cultural evening and showcased their patriotic fervor through diverse and hearty melodies.
The event was organised under the patronage of Prof Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, who welcomed the gathering and apprised them that Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is an intensive, countrywide campaign that focuses on citizen participation and encourages small changes at the local level to add up to significant national gains. The theme of Independence Day for the current year is ‘Nation First, Always First’.
An enchanting Cultural programme was presented by the students of Constituent colleges and PG Schools of Cluster University where they paid tributes to the brave martyrs who laid down their lives for the Nation.
The programme was a mesmerizing mix of patriotic songs, medley, ghazal and solo performances. Romalo ji, a well known local folk singer and performer enticed the audience with his rendition of local folklore and dance.
Prof Umesh Rai, the Chief Guest of the event appreciated the Cluster University of Jammu for organizing such a relevant and meaningful program to celebrate 75 years of Independence.
Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu, thanked the audience and participants for their active participation. She also expressed her gratitude to the constituent colleges and schools of Constituent Colleges for their active participation in the momentous celebration and urged the students to imbibe the valour and spirit of our freedom fighters and jawans who sacrificed their lives for the well being of their countrymen.
Dean Academic Affairs, Registrar CLUJ, Controller Examination, Deans, Principals and Coordinators of NCC, NSS wings faculty and staff of different Constituent Colleges & Schools graced the occasion. The event was supervised by the Cultural Coordinators, Associate Dean and Assistant Deans of CLUJ.
Geetika and Sania Bali, Students of CLUJ compared the proceedings of the programme. The program concluded with the recital of the National Anthem by the participants and guests.
