Shopian| Aug, 17: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Manzoor Hussain on Wednesday listened to public issues at the weekly Block Diwas programme held at Gagren, here.
At the outset, the BDO Shopian, Qadeer Charak presented a brief of the developmental profile of the Block and requested the PRI members to put forth their grievances, demands and issues.
DDC Member Ramnagri, Sarpanches, Panches, Senior Citizens and public of Shopian, Ramnagri, and adjoining Panchayats projected scores of demands and problems.
They demanded culvert at Amshipora-Kanjiullar, Devpora to Krachpathri road, better electricity, financial assistance under PMAY, better water supply, Renovation of Panchayat Ghars, flood protection work of Chohan Mohalla and Shah Kul, construction of Footbridge, link road connectivity and passenger sheds at Bohrihallan, Chotipora and other issues of public importance.
Responding to the demands, the ADDC assured the public that all their genuine issues would be addressed in a time bound manner. The ADDC directed the officers to work in coordination for equitable development of all Panchayats.
He also directed concerned officers to resolve genuine demands of the public on priority and submit the detailed report of pending issues so that the same are projected to higher authorities for consideration.
Among others, the programme was attended by DDC Member Ramnagri, Chief Planning Officer, Shopian, various district officers, Block Development Officers of Shopian, Ramnagri besides officials of line departments and PRIs of Ramnagri and Shopian.
