2 drug peddlers held at Handwara, contraband substance recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday arrested two drug peddlers in Handwara and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued on Wednesday Police said that a Police party of Police Station Kralgund during patrolling in Pandithpora area intercepted & apprehended two suspicious persons and upon checking recovered 106grams of Charas like substance from their possession after which they were identified as Tariq Ahmad Moochi S/O Mohd Maqbool Moochi and Abdul Quyoom Mir S/O Gh Nabi Mir both residents of Pandithpora.
Stating that both the above named accused have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 70/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kralgund and further investigation has been taken up.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
