Srinagar, Aug 16 : Four troopers of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) were on Tuesday killed and 37 others were injured in a bus accident near Chandanwari in South Kashmir’s Anantnag districts.
Locals said that the bus carrying ITBP personnel on Tuesday skidded off the road and went rolling into a gorge near Zig Chandanwari in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The bus carrying ITBP, personnel was deployed for yatra duties and on return from Chandanwari the driver lost control over the bus and the bus went rolling into a gorge, the locals said. Four ITBP personnel died on the spot and 37 others injured the condition of many of whom is stated to be serious .
A massive rescue operation has been launched to shifted the injured personnel to hospital. A police official said “three to four personnel died on the spot and 37 others were injured”. He said the injured have been shifted to hospital.
