Plantation drives conducted in Nowshera forest division

Rajouri : A series of Plantation Drives, under the theme “One Beat Guard One Village” and mark celebration of AzadiKaMahotsav were conducted on Saturday across Nowshera Forest division.
A platation drive was held at village Sarohti of KhabberPanchayat. BushanUppal, SarpanchPanchyatKhabber, Headmaster Sat Paul, PRI members along with a large number of locals and students of Government High School Sarohti took part in the Plantation drive.
Sanjeev Kumar Beat Guard Hathal conducted the drive with the help of Block Forest Officer DevakRajinderDev Sharma and other Forest Officials. A number of fruit, medicinal and fodder plants were planted on the occasion and plants and seed balls of different species were also distributed among the participants.
Similar plantation drive under “One Beat Guard One Village” Programme was also conducted in village Keri of Panchyat Keri Teryath in which Seema Devi Sarpanch, panchyat Keri Teryath, Raj Krishan Head Master, PRI members along with a large number of locals and students of Govt. Middle school Bainalla participated. The plants of different species were planted and distributed among the participants.
The Sarpanch, PRI members and general public of the area lauded the efforts of Forest department for increasing the green cover of the area and thanked VivekVerma, Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri, Neelima Shah, Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera and RakeshVerma, Range Officer Sunderbani for organizing these plantation drives for spreading awareness among the villagers and students about the importance of forest, soil and it’s direct relation with the rainfall and other climatic factors.
The drives were conducted under the direct supervision of VivekVerma, Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri and Neelima Shah, Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera.
