Jammu : The 3rd National LokAdalat was held on Satruday in District Court Jammu and other courts falling under its jurisdiction in which 22 Benches were constituted to hear the cases.
A total number of 45,288 cases were listed out of which 39,743 cases were settled and an amount of Rs. 27,37,72,469 was realised by persuasion, reconciliation and compounding.
The administrative Judge for District Jammu Justice TashiRabstan also visited the court complex and interacted with the litigants during the LokAdalat. Besides on spot compensation awarded in MACT claims was also disbursed to the claimants by his lordship
This Lokadalat was presided over by Sanjay Parihar, PrDistt and Sessions Judge Jammu, who is also chairman DLSA Jammu. He was ably assisted by other Judicial officers of Jammu District.
Justice TashiRabstan, while interacting with lawyers, litigants, exhorted them to have maximum usage of Alternative dispute resolution mechanism which is not only cost effective but also viable in current situation.
