Police organizes Tiranga rally in Pulwama

Amid dry, hot and humid weather, hundreds of people including men, women and children mostly bare foot visited the revered suffi Saint Shrine Sheikh Noor-Ud-Wali popularly known as Nund Resh at Charar-e- Sharief in Budgam district on Sunday for prayers to seek rainfall to end the drought season in Kashmir valley. Srinagar : As a part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” Police in Pulwama on Wednesday alongwith Civil Administration launched “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign to encourage the students to hoist the National flag at their respective homes & offices to mark the 76th year of India’s Independence and promote the spirit of nationalism.
According to a police statement issued on Wednesday the DC Pulwama Baseer-ul-Haq Choudary alongwith SSP Pulwama Gh Jeelani Wani participated in the campaign organized at Sports Stadium Pulwama. On this occasion, SSP Pulwama distributed National Flags among the students/officers of civil administration and encouraged all participants/students to hoist the Tiranga at their homes as well.
Police in it’s above referred statement said that the main aim of organizing the Tiranga programme is to spread the campaign in every nook & corner of the district and to encourage the people living in the remote areas also to hoist the national flag at their homes. Besides Civil/Police officers, hundreds of students (both Govt/Private educational institutions) have participated in the rally. The students also sung patriotic songs on the occasion.
