Drug peddler arrested at Sopore, Illegal imports recovered: Police

Sopore: Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued on Wednesday police said that a police party led by SHO PS Panzalla under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Ameen Bhat established a checkpoint at Batpora Rohama and intercepted a person moving in suspicious circumstances, Stating therein further that the said person has been identified as Irfan Ahmad Lone son of Muhammad Maqbool Lone resident of Charlipora Rohama Rafiabad in a suspicious manner.
Stating that during checking, officers recovered 95gms of Charas like substance from the possession of the above named accused who has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, Police in it’s statement said that the above that after nabbing the said drug peddler, a case vide FIR No. 49/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Panzalla and investigation has been taken up.
In the concluding para of the above referred statement, Police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
