G’bal : Youm-e-Ashura was on Tuesday observed amid religious fervour in Dab, area of Ganderbal District to remember and mourn the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions in the battle of Karbala.
On the occasion, Zuljinnah processions were taken out at several places of the district to observe Ashura, the 10th Muharram of the month. Religious heads threw light on the significance of the day viz. victory of good over evil.
District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson, Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq also visited Dab area of Ganderbal where mourners were remembering the sacrifice of Hazrat imam Hussain and his companions in the battle of Karbala.
She distributed water and other essential things among them and was satisfied after seeing arrangements of police and health department in the district.
She also highlighted the importance of Muharram in the Muslim World and appealed Muslim Ummah to be united and not fall prey to the ill designs and tactics of enemies.
