Jammu : A national level Art Exhibition and Artists Workshop concluded at Museum of Contemporary Art, Balewadi, Pune (MR). The events was inaugurated by Amol Ratanshet Balwadkar, former Corporator, PMC.
Reports reaching here said a total of nine accomplished artists from different states of the country, including Jang S. Verman, a senior artist of Jammu displayed their talent in the two events at the centre. The list of other participating artists includes the names of Prabhinder Singh Lall, Chandigarh; Vinita Yadhav, Jaynti Patil, and Farukh Nadaf, Pune; Sangita Sharma, Thane; and Ankita Day Bhoumik, Payal Mitra Sarkar and Arka Ray Choudhari, Kolkatta. A show of contemporary art paintings was, according to the witnesses, organized on this occasion, and which was visited by many visitors and connoisseurs from the city. The painters created one painting each in their own styles in the four days long art workshop.
According to Jayanti Patil, the convener of the workshop, ‘The purpose of organizing such activities is to bring artists of different places at one platform to share their art and experiences in the process of creating art, as well as to enjoy the confluence of lines and colours from different states.’ The Museum of Contemporary art conducts various activities for people to savor art. It is being recognized as an artist centre in which guidance is provided to artists for expressing themselves through various media by organizing creative workshops. The upcoming artists can present their physical and digital works. They will also get guidance from accomplished artists. Budding artists can get an art gallery at reasonable rates, to exhibit their work.
