Jammu : Illegal Structure constructed on State land measuring 08 Kanal and 14 Marla bearing Khasra No. 504 was demolished in Marh area, here Saturday.
On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, AvnyLavasa and under the supervision of ADC (L&O) Sherpa Minga, a demolition drive was conducted on encroached Government land at ChakKalasay by SDM Marh, Rajeev Khajuria.
A big concrete structure raised illegally on 8.14 Kanal State land was demolished with the assistance of a Police party led by SDPO Domana Sunil Singh, SHO Kana Chak and SHO Domana.
TehsildarMarhRampal Sharma and NaibTehsildarMarh Rajesh Bali were also present on the spot.
The Drive was conducted in continuation to the policy of LG Administration of zero tolerance towards encroachments on State lands in J&K and sent a stern message to encroachers to abstain from such illegal/criminal acts in future.
The illegal concrete structure was raised on Sunday last during night hours on a plinth which was laid illegally and mischievously by the encroachers several months ago. “After repeated communications by SDM Marh through Revenue Officials and prominent citizens for the last one week, the encroachers constructed this illegal structure on their own, which led to Saturday’s demolition operation” the Revenue Officials said.
Such demolition drives to free the State land in Marh shall continue in future also, they added.
They said that the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu has already issued clear cut instructions to all SDM’s/ Revenue Officers to deal strictly with the encroachers and make all out efforts to retrieve the illegally encroached State land in all Sub Divisions/Tehsils of Jammu.
