Jammu : Teams of Food Safety on Wednesday lifted 17 surveillance samples in Kathua, Poonch, Udhampur, Samba and Doda districts of Jammu division in continuation of the surveillance sampling drive of different brands of edible oils initiated from August 1, 2022.
According to the department, the drive has been undertaken to ensure and assess the quality of the edible oils available in the market and would continue till August 14, 2022.
The department has appealed to all the stakeholders to come forward and support the initiative of the Food and Drug Administration of J&K at UT level and Food Safety and standard Authority of India at National level.
“Such commodity specific drives will be held on regular intervals to expose the hot spots of Food adulteration and ensure safe as well as wholesome food to the general public” the department said.
