DC Kathua discusses Distt Sports & Cultural plan

Kathua : Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey on Wednesday convened a meeting of concerned officers to discuss rolling out of District Sports and Cultural Plan, here at conference hall of DC Office complex.
Deliberating upon the district sports plan, the Deputy Commissioner directed DYSSO to focus on identification of sports talent across the district by organizing intra-school, inter-school and inter-zonal competitions. He further directed for providing handholding and training to support the talented sportspersons, besides ensuring proper utilisation of the sports infrastructure available in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner directed CEO, District Coordinator NYK to liaison with DYSSO to organize talent hunt programmes for identification of bonafide sports talent of the district.
For the district cultural plan, the deputy commissioner impressed upon the district cultural officer to work in close coordination with CEO Kathua for rolling out a comprehensive action plan for promotion of local art and culture of the district. He further stressed upon the concerned officers to include local art, folk which depicts cultural ethos and heritage of the district.
The DC enjoined upon all the stakeholders to work in tandem for devising out a workable action plan which can bring about positive developments in respective fields across the district.
