Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: MSK Ramban organises series of awareness camps

Ramban : Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) Ramban on Wednesday organized a series of awareness camps under AzadiKaAmritMahotsav here at Banihal, Neel, Ramban and Chanderkote to sensitize the women folk about different women-centric schemes launched by the Government for their empowerment.
The programmes were held under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam and the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer, Ramban Rahul Gupta.
During the awareness programme Women Welfare Officer, Nadia Hamid talked about women empowerment and stressed on the education of the girl child which is the first step for empowering a woman and the nation as a whole.
The MSK team sensitized the local women about the women welfare schemes like BetiBachaoBetiPadhao, SukanyaSamridhiYojana, Tejswani, MUMKIN, e-Shram card, SMAS, Women helpline 181 etc. They were also encouraged for enrollment for the beneficiaries-oriented, welfare and self-employment programmes.
They also sensitized the participants about their legal rights and also briefed them about the violence and the types of violence faced by women in general. She informed the participants that Mahila Shakti Kendra is a one-stop destination for women in need of help
The participants were also made aware of the prevention and elimination of violence against them and the role of women in the progress of the Nation as a whole.
