Chairperson J&K Waqf Board interacts with people, Inspects Auqaf property

Udhampur : Chairperson, J&K Wakf Board, DrDarakshanAndrabion Tuesday visited Udhampur to review the functioning of Waqf Board in the district and inspected Auqaf property and different places.
Chief Executive Officer Wakf Board, Dr. Jahagir Masjid; Additional Superintendent of Police, Anwar-Ul-Haq; Member J&K Wakf Board, Nawab Din; Administrator Aquaf, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral; Chairman Masjid Development Committee, Tanveer Shah accompanied the Chairperson on the occasion.
Earlier, the Chairman Masjid Development Committee put forth the demand for release of funds to complete the ongoing construction work of Jama Masjid at Udhampur, fencing of graveyard and construction of toilet complexes, besides development of Ziarats etc.
The Administrator Waqf Board apprised the chairperson that geo-tagging of the waqaf property has been done and other remaining paper work shall be completed within fifteen days. He said that funds are required for developing 08 Ziarats for the visiting devotees.
Member J&K Wakf Board stressed upon the generation of Waqaf income by creating different income generating assets of the board in the district. He said such steps will help to extend aid to the poor people and students belonging to far off areas of the district.
While interacting with the people, the chairperson said that the development of the area was a key responsibility of the government. She called upon people to play their role not only in the development of the area but also in maintaining peace, brotherhood and tranquility in the region. “We are the chokidhars of the Waqaf property and we should come forward to protect it” she said.
While responding to the demands of the people, she assured them that the board will extend all possible help and support to the people of the area.
Later, the Chairperson visited different locations of the Udhampur town to inspect construction of Waqaf assets. Necessary instructions were given to the concerned officers for their early completion.
