Budgam Police organizes interaction prog with Shia leaders

B’gam: In view of ongoing holy month of Muharram-ul-haram, Police held an interaction meeting with Shia leaders & visited Imam-baras in Budgam.
According to the police statement issued on Tuesday SDPO Chrar- e-Sharief Saleem Jehangir along with SHO PS Chadoora on Tuesday visited Imam-baras of Chattargam, Sanzipora, Khanda areas where from Muharram processes are expected to be carried out. The SDPO’s visit to Imam-baras was part of the initiatives taken for smooth and peaceful conduct of Muharram processions in the district and to take holistic view of the facilities being extended to people during the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram,
Later police said that the visiting officers also held interactions with prominent Shia leaders & Intizamiya committees for the hassle-free conduct of Majlis & processions. While responding to the suggestions and issues put forth by the representatives of Shia leaders, officers assured them that all their genuine demands will be looked into on priority under security point of view. The chairing officer also assured full assistance from Police during the Muharram days.
