Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered Psychotropic substances from their possession.
In a statement issued on Tuesday,Police said that a Police Party of PS Baramulla under the supervision of SHO PS Baramulla during routine checking near Khanpora Bridge Baramulla arrested two drug peddlers identified as Bilal Ahmad Shiekh son of Gh Hassan Shiekh resident of Zehanpora Boniyar and Javaid Rashid Bhat @ Izhar son of Ab Rashid Bhat resident of Mohalla Mir Sahib Baramulla A/P Drangbal Baramulla, Stating therein further that during searches 1470 tablets of Spasmoproxivan were recovered from the possession of the above named drug peddlers who were shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Stating that cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation has been initiated, Police in the concluding para of the above referred statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, Stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken as part of efforts made to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
